iCloud Sync
GoodLinks automatically syncs your links across all iOS and macOS devices via iCloud, so you don’t have to do anything.
Requirements
- All devices are signed in with the same iCloud account.
- iCloud Drive is enabled on all devices (Apple has instructions for Mac and iOS devices).
- GoodLinks has permission to use iCloud Drive (in iCloud Drive options).
Troubleshooting Sync
Sometimes sync problems are caused by iCloud having issues. Apple maintains a service status page that can be checked if the sync isn’t working.
If the configuration is correct but GoodLinks is still not syncing, try restarting your devices to restart the iCloud service. If after restarting, the sync still does not work, please send us some logs from the devices that are not syncing properly. Here is how to generate and send these logs to us:
On iOS
- Open Settings > Advanced, then turn on File Logging.
- Restart the app and wait for a few minutes in order to generate a sufficiently long log.
- Open Settings > Advanced, then tap Send Log File to send the log.
On macOS
- Select Help > Enable File Logging.
- Restart the app and wait for a few minutes in order to generate a sufficiently long log.
- Select Help > Send Log File, then select a share option to send the log.
This should give us the additional details needed to troubleshoot the issue.
